Seed to Pigment: A Local Indigo Experience

Join natural dye and pigment artists Kara Gilbs, Scott Sutton, and Brittany Boles for a unique local color experience. Harvest fresh Japanese Indigo and learn the secrets of coaxing deep blue pigment from these green plants. A jam-packed day of hands-on extraction, pigment making, watercolor painting, and dyeing in the Vibrant Valley Vat, with exclusively local ingredients. You’ll go home with a silk scarf, cotton bandana, indigo watercolor paints, and a pigment extraction kit (with fresh indigo leaves from the farm.)

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

You’ll receive an e-mail with detailed address and parking information upon registration.

What can I bring into the event?

Bring a sack lunch. Dress comfortably for a day on the farm. Wear shoes/clothing that can get dyed and dirty. Hat water bottle, and apron recommended.
